Michael J. Shidlovsky, 88, of East Harwich, MA, passed peacefully at home on October 13.
Born in Plantsville, CT in 1928, he was the oldest son of Helen (Homnack) and Michael W. Shidlovsky. He studied engineering at The Cooper Union and the University of CT and worked his entire career at Superior Electric of Bristol until his retirement in 1987. He served in the National Guard and in the US Air Force, and was stationed in Newfoundland, where he met his wife, and the love of his life Norma (Edwards) Shidlovsky. He took great joy...

Michael J. Shidlovsky, 88, of East Harwich, MA, passed peacefully at home on October 13.
Born in Plantsville, CT in 1928, he was the oldest son of Helen (Homnack) and Michael W. Shidlovsky. He studied engineering at The Cooper Union and the University of CT and worked his entire career at Superior Electric of Bristol until his retirement in 1987. He served in the National Guard and in the US Air Force, and was stationed in Newfoundland, where he met his wife, and the love of his life Norma (Edwards) Shidlovsky. He took great joy in his membership in the Roaring 20's Antique and Classic Car Club, and the many hours spent playing cribbage.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Dorothy Campbell of FL, and leaves behind his brothers William Shidlovsky of Palos Heights, IL, and George Shidlovsky of Princeton, NC.
He was a devoted father and grandfather and loved spending time with his large family. He leaves Norma, his children Cathy Shidlovsky of Claremont, NH, Patti Lowicki and husband PJ of Bristol CT, Carol Cestaro and husband Stephen of Hamden, CT, Michael Shidlovsky of Plainville, CT, and Peggy Godbout and husband Brian of Bristol, CT, and 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He also leaves his devoted friend Denise Shanahan.
